With the arrival of veteran News-Talk and Sports PD KENT STERLING as its new PD, SARKES TARZIAN News-Talk WGCL-A-W254DP/BLOOMINGTON, IN has rebranded as BLOOMINGTON'S VOICE 98.7 WGCL, with a revamped lineup including STERLING hosting mornings, RAMSEY SOLUTIONS' DAVE RAMSEY 9a-noon, the syndicated "TONY KATZ TODAY" in the noon-3p slot, and tle local "GLASS IN THE AFTERNOON" show 3-6p.
STERLING, whose radio stops include WIBC, WFNI-A (THE FAN), and WXNT-A/INDIANAPOLIS, WGN0-A/SHICAGO, and WXOS (101 ESPN)/ST. LOUIS, said, “WGCL has such a rich heritage of serving BLOOMINGTON and south-central INDIANA, I applied for a job at the station when I was a student at INDIANA UNIVERSITY. Being astute judges of broadcasting, they understood I was a work in progress. Now I get to come back to BLOOMINGTON’S VOICE without the rough edges and serve so many listeners. It’s a dream.”
SARKES TARZIAN VP and WGCL Pres./GM BRAD HOLTZ said, “We are fortunate to work for a company that believes in the power of local radio and is willing to invest accordingly. BLOOMINGTON’S VOICE is an affirmation of WGCL’s proud history of service and commitment to the community."
