The NEW YORK DAILY NEWS is reporting that longtime NEW YORK KNICKS radio analyst BRENDAN BROWN has abruptly been let go. The NEW YORK POST's ANDREW MARCHAND added that BROWN was fired after an investigation by MSG NETWORKS' human resources department into allegations of verbal harassment.
BROWN, son of former NBA coach and current ESPN analyst HUBIE BROWN and a former assistant coach and scout for the MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES and a scout for the DETROIT PISTONS, had been calling KNICKS games since 2012 and had been with MSG NETWORKS since 2008. A statement from MSG NETWORKS said that BROWN and the network "have decided to part company."
Former KNICKS player JOHN WALLACE, who has been filling in on the radio side since NOVEMBER, will lead a rotation of analysts working alongside play-by-play voice ED COHEN on game broadcasts; ALAN HAHN, WALLY SCZERBIAK, and MONICA MCNUTT have also filled in for BROWN on radio.
The KNICKS air on GOOD KARMA BRANDS Sports WEPN-F (ESPN NY 98.7FM)/NEW YORK.
