UTAH PUBLIC RADIO and the SALT LAKE TRIBUNE have teamed to designate a reporter to cover northern UTAH for both outlets. TRIBUNE State Government Reporter JACOB SCHOLL will write for the TRIBUNE and report on-air for UPR under the arrangement, which is being supported by donations to the nonprofit news organizations.
In a TRIBUNE report announcing the arrangement, TRIBUNE Editor LAUREN GUSTUS said, “We’re grateful for the support of residents of CACHE COUNTY, who have an appreciation and a desire to build a stronger community through local reporting. And for UPR for thinking creatively about how to serve listeners and readers.”
“I’m excited for this new opportunity and to contribute to a great station like UPR,” said SCHOLL, a former staffer at BONNEVILLE News-Talk KSL-A-F/SALT LAKE CITY, the IDAHO STATESMAN, and the OGDEN STANDARD-EXAMINER, in the report. “The CACHE VALLEY and northern UTAH as a whole is a special place, and I’m looking forward to finding all the stories the area holds.”
