ALL ACCESS is again honoring the memory of our late colleague and friend, “THE DOCTOR,” JERRY BOULDING. During BLACK HISTORY MONTH, BOULDING's URBANIZING columns will be featured in a four-part series with his take on the status of race and American culture.
ALL ACCESS Editor-Urban/R&B Promotion-Columnist SAM WEAVER said, "Years before JERRY was the ALL ACCESS Urban Editor, he wrote to truth on issues that African Americans and people of color are still dealing with TODAY. Every time Boulding wrote something it was Black history. Through his journalistic abilities, we can literally see YESTERDAY as it relates to TODAY on so many levels.
"FEBRUARY is the month to focus on what has become a year around mission to tell the story of African Americans in this country. If you don’t keep telling and adding on to the story, it might get buried in a ‘Brick and Mortar’ backroom or become a digital footnote in a file folder somewhere in the CLOUD.
"Boulding was convinced that the continuation of Black History Month had a continuing effect on progress for African Americans. Publicizing the truth is always a fight with revisionists who want to control the perception of how to present the past of America. There's currently a struggle over ‘Critical Race Theory.’ There are those with hidden agendas attempting to rewrite history with a sanitized version of the African American journey in the U.S.”
BOULDING addressed the best way to resolve America's race problems in the first week of BLACK HISTORY MONTH in 2007. To read "INHERITED NIGHTMARES -- ONE BY ONE FROM THE INSIDE OUT," Click here.
