The FCC has denied the license renewal of ZACARIAS SERRATO's silent KHOS-A/SONORA, TX due to the station's off-air status for more than a year (without notifying the FCC) and failure to obtain an alternate transmission site. The station's license has been cancelled and the call letters have been deleted.
The Commission also denied a challenge to EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION's application for a new translator, K255BE/TULSA, but admonished EMF for incorrectly saying the translator did not cover the same area as another translator it operates. EMF has since corrected the application by moving the proposed translator so that it does not offer duplicative coverage with the other transmitter.
