DON BARRETT's LARADIO.com reports that CBS News KNX-A/LOS ANGELES reporter CHRIS STANLEY exited yesterday (7/5) and was escorted from the building.
KNX PD DAVID G. HALL reportedly sent a staff memo yesterday afternoon that read, "Today was CHRIS STANLEY's last day at KNX. We wish him well in his future pursuits." HALL had not responded to ALL ACCESS' request for comment at press time.
STANLEY's bio on KNX's website says he joined the station in DECEMBER 1999 after 16 years as a news correspondent with the CBS RADIO NETWORK in MANHATTAN, anchoring the on-the-hour national/international news broadcasts heard on KNX and hundreds of other U.S. radio stations. He covered several Democratic and Republican nominating conventions and hit the campaign trail in 1996 with PAT BUCHANAN and, later, BOB DOLE. He's also been News Director of WPIX/NEW YORK, KPFT/HOUSTON and WBAY/GREEN BAY.
