ESPN's Stephen A. Smith Losing Inquirer Column

STEPHEN A. SMITH is all over radio, TV, and print as an ESPN personality and PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER columnist, but now SMITH has to make a decision about the latter job. The paper confirms that the ESPN Sports WEPN-A (1050 ESPN RADIO)/NEW YORK midday host has been informed that he is losing his column at the INQUIRER and must decide whether to accept a demotion to general assignment reporter. 

Editor BILL MARIMOW said that SMITH "is an excellent reporter. He's got a huge reservoir of sources in the sports world, and we want him to return to reporting." SMITH is on vacation and has not yet responded to the paper's offer.
