Alexander Tapped To Call ODU Basketball

Alexander Now Radio Voice

CBS affiliate WTKR-TV/NORFOLK reporter TED ALEXANDER adds duties as radio voice of OLD DOMINION UNIVERSITY basketball on MAX MEDIA Urban AC WXEZ (STAR 94.1)/YORKTOWN-NORFOLK, replacing JOHN CASTLEBERRY, the school's radio play-by-play announcer for 14 years before leaving to join RED ZEBRA Sports WXTG (102.1 THE GAME) earlier this year. ALEXANDER will also host the weekly ODU coach's show with coach BLAINE TAYLOR on STAR's sister Sports WGH-A (ESPN RADIO 1310). Color commentators BILLY MANN and RICK KIEFNER will return to join ALEXANDER on the game broadcasts.

WGH-A will also add a weekly "ODU FOOTBALL UPDATE" show with WGH host and ODU women's basketball radio voice TONY MERCURIO and coach BOBBY WILDER for WEDNESDAYS 6-7p ET beginning SEPTEMBER 12. MERCURIO also hosts the women's basketball coach's show with WENDY LARRY on TUESDAYS 6-7p, this season beginning NOVEMBER 13.
