104.9 George-FM Debuts In Waco, TX

SIMMONS MEDIA has launched GEORGE-FM under the call letters KWGW/WACO, TX. The new JACK-like format is replacing the JONES RADIO feed that had been running under the calls KYCX. The station is named after several famous GEORGE's from TEXAS; GEORGE W. BUSH, GEORGE STRAIT and GEORGE JONES.

BO CHASE has been named PD/MD and the station will run jockless with creative imaging. "104.9 GEORGE-FM has wit, attitude and the biggest selection of Country music to be heard anywhere," according to CHASE.

An major engineering upgrade to triple the power and a new tower site is currently underway to dramatically improve coverage in the WACO area. 104.9 GEORGE-FM will be simulcast on KQRL-A in WACO and KRQX-A in MEXIA.
