6PR's Grljusich Signs Off

SOUTHERN CROSS Talk 6PR/PERTH, AUSTRALIA sportscaster GEORGE GRLJUSICH ended his 47 year career with a final broadcast WEDNESDAY after being diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. 

The 68 year old GRLJUSICH, who played Australian Rules Football for SOUTH FREMANTLE while launching his radio career at 720 ABC/PERTH in 1960, told listeners, ""I'm not one of these people that believe there'll be forty virgins or people with guitars waiting for me in paradise. But I believe in a maker so I've always had a direction in life from that point of view." He covered six Olympics for the ABC.
