Salem Buys WTPS/Miami

SALEM COMMUNICATIONS is buying Talk WTPS-A (THE PEOPLE'S STATION)/CORAL GABLES-MIAMI from RADIO ONE for $12.25 million. 

SALEM has taken over the signal under an LMA, effective TODAY, and is moving the Religion programming heard on SALEM's WKAT-A/MIAMI BEACH to the new signal using the calls WMCU, inherited from the crosstown noncommercial Contemporary Christian "89.7 SPIRIT FM" that was recently sold to AMERICAN PUBLIC MEDIA GROUP and is flipping to Classical.
