GCAP MEDIA will shut down the analog AM transmitter for its CAPITAL GOLD/LONDON, making the station digital-only as soon as SPRING 2007. THE INDEPENDENT reports that the move is being planned as the company prepares to sue OFCOM for releasing new digital radio bandwidth to compete with GCAP's current national multiplex, which GCAP claims was supposed to be exclusive.
