As first reported on ALL ACCESS (NET NEWS 6/18), the signal swap that gives UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA AAA WXPN/PHILADELPHIA a bigger signal in the HARRISBURG market has taken place, with PENN swapping the signal of its WXPH/HARRISBURG for the signal of FOUR RIVERS COMMUNITY BROADCASTING's Contemporary Christian WZXM/MIDDLETOWN-HARRISBURG.
The WXPN programming began airing on 88.7 and 99.7 FM in the LANCASTER-YORK-HARRISBURG market on MONDAY, and the station is treating the relaunch as a new entry into CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA with promotions including a "Get To Know Us Tour" that includes a "KIDS CORNER" party on THURSDAY, a sold-out "FREE AT NOON" concert with OVER THE RHINE at NOON FRIDAY, DAVID DYE's "FUNKY FRIDAY DANCE PARTY" at the WHITAKER CENTER FRIDAY afternoon, a DYE book signing SATURDAY, and concerts with MATT POND PA and JESCA HOOP SATURDAY and SEA WOLF SUNDAY.
