NORTHSHIRE COMMUNICATIONS Alternative WEQX/MANCHESTER, VT-ALBANY, NY celebrated its 23rd anniversary today by playing LINDA CLIFFORD's " If My Friends Could See Me Now" at 10:27a. It was the first song played when WEQX signed on at 10:27a on NOVEMBER 10th, 1984.
Throughout this week, WEQX is highlighting a different year every hour. Several artists have been calling in to the station, including CHRIS CORNELL, THE KOOKS and THE CLIKS to show their appreciation for the independent Alternative station.
WEQX OM/PD WILLOBEE told ALL ACCESS, "With this climate in the industry, not to mention the disappearance of so many Alternative stations over the past few years, it is rare for a station to reach such a milestone. It just goes to show the commitment and passion our company has for what we do."
