MusicFirst Offers 'Free Coupon' To NAB Store

The MUSICFIRST COALITION has released a tongue-in-cheek response to the NAB's support of no performance fees, by issuing a "coupon," good for "free" merchandise at the NAB store. 

Writes MUSICFIRST, "For the past couple of months we've been listening to the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) brag about the so-called "favor" they are doing for performers. According to the NAB, playing a song on the AM and FM dial is more than enough compensation for the hard work and talent of the performers, background singers and session musicians who bring the music to life." 

They continue, "To return the favor we decided to start our holiday shopping early at NABStore.com. We hoped to pick up a couple of fetching NAB T-shirts and some tasteful wine charms (an NAB exclusive we're told). When we went to the checkout -- much to our suprise -- they wanted us to pay for the items."
