Macquarie Won't Build U.K. FM

Accepting New Bids

MACQUARIE BANK will not proceed with plans to launch a new FM in PLYMOUTH, ENGLAND, and radio regulator OFCOM is now re-advertising the frequency for new bids. 

MACQUARIE won the license for DIAMOND FM in MARCH 2006 over the objection of local leaders who preferred several local applicants over the Australian investment firm.

OFCOM is also advertising a new local digital radio multiplex for MID- and WEST WALES. Applications for the multiplex are due FEBRUARY 20.
