An indecency fine package may be awaiting broadcasters by CHRISTMAS, but it won't be for radio, reports BROADCASTING AND CABLE, which says that the fines to be slapped on stations will be for television infractions. Another package of fines, all for radio stations, would be released "early next year," according to the magazine's sources. B&C reports that the FCC will release a number of proposed fines and denials that are intended to provide guidance to broadcasters as to what is indecent and what is not.
No fines for indecency have been proposed this year so far; if the pre-CHRISTMAS package is not released, 2005 would be the first year since 1993 without a proposed indecency fine.
