CUMULUS has filed work to move the signal of its AC WFAS-F/WHITE PLAINS, NY into NEW YORK CITY proper, reports NORTH EAST RADIO WATCH, which notes that the application would put the class A station onto the WFUV/NEW YORK tower in the BRONX, atop MONTEFIORE MEDICAN CENTER. WFAS filed for a change of city of license to BRONXVILLE in JANUARY and got the grant last week.
The station would cover the BRONX and most of QUEENS and MANHATTAN with a city-grade signal and would also gain stronger coverage of BERGEN COUNTY and part of BROOKLYN, although it would not be at parity with larger NEW YORK signals. The station would still cover most of WESTCHESTER COUNTY.
