In case ARBITRON wasn't having enough difficulty with the numbers lately, subscribers to the company's radio county coverage service received e-mails WEDNESDAY informing them that ARBITRON had inadvertently left weekend hours out of total week averages and would have to reissue audience estimates. The new numbers do not affect MONDAY-FRIDAY estimates, and ARBITRON says that "in most instances, MONDAY-SUNDAY 6AM-Midnight Cume estimates, AQH Shares, and County Shares are unlikely to be significantly affected." However, the company also warns that "for some stations, AQH Persons and AQH Rating estimates may be noticeably affected."
ARBITRON is not reissuing the numbers in book form but is instead sending the numbers out electronically through its Custom Coverage product, which is being made available to County Coverage subscribers who normally do not take the custom package. Custom COverage subscribers are being given an additional year of custom service at no charge.
