CENTRAL FLORIDA EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION Christian AC WPOZ (Z88.3)/ORLANDO joined CHRISTIAN HELP to provide families with a full CHRISTMAS meal and gifts for the children. Listeners came together again this year to adopt over 600 families through CHRISTIAN HELP's Adopt-a-Family program.
“Being able to tell each family’s story on the air is what makes this program unique. We are not just asking our listeners to support needy families; instead we are able to make each family’s need real on the air by reading specific stories about the situations they are facing this Christmas," said PD DEAN O'NEAL.
WPOZ also partnered with NATHANIEL'S HOPE for the sixth year for the annual "Caroling for Kids" program. WPOZ staff and listeners sang CHRISTMAS carols to children and families who were hospitalized on CHRISTMAS day. Over 400 listeners volunteered to be a part of the program and thousands of candy canes, prepackaged goodies and stuffed animals that were donated throughout DECEMBER were handed out. NATHANIEL'S HOPE also added a caroling caravan to visit families who are homebound with medically fragile children.
