CUMULUS Top 40 WHOT (HOT 101)/YOUNGSTOWN PD JOHN TROUT told ALL ACCESS of a clever stunt that reminds us of "CANDID CAMERA." He secured four empty X BOX 360 boxes. However, inside was not the hottest holiday gift this season, but a copy of the YOUNGSTOWN YELLOW PAGES. Morning show producer LOBOY strategically placed the faux gifts in shopping carts in a WAL MART parking lot. Unbeknownst to shoppers, LOBOY watched the carts as patrons came up to see if they'd actually had an early visit from SANTA.
Of the four X BOX 360 boxes that were placed, LOBOY reported live on HOT 101 that one couple took the box and ran, another man in an SVU pulled up to the cart and snatched it, while a third man with many piercings grabbed the box and sped off with visions of selling it on eBAY. And, the only angel in the story was a lady named SANDY who immediately called the station hotline which was affixed to each box with a note that said: "Merry Christmas JOHNNY, please, call me when you get this." Due to her honesty SANDY won tickets to the upcoming GWEN STEFANI concert, and she gets to keep the empty X BOX 360 box and the phone book! Hey, it's the end of year -- the budget's shot!
