The nominees for the NARAS' 48th Annual GRAMMY AWARDS were announced in LOS ANGELES today (12/8) and heading the list of nominees are MARIAH CAREY, KANYE WEST and JOHN LEGEND. Each artist landed 8 nominations. CAREY and WEST both received Album Of The Year nominations for "Emancipation Of Mimi" and "Late Registration" respectively. They'll compete with GWEN STEFANI's "Love. Angel. Music. Baby.", U2's "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb"; and PAUL MCCARTNEY's "Chaos and Creation in the Backyard".

The 48th Annual GRAMMY AWARDS will be presented FEBRUARY 8, 2006 at the STAPLES CENTER in LOS ANGELES and telecast on CBS.
