The NEW YORK DAILY NEWS' BOB RAISSMAN is reporting that PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES broadcaster TOM MCCARTHY will be named the new radio voice of the NEW YORK METS. METS games air on INFINITY Sports WFAN-A/NEW YORK.
MCCARTHY would be replacing GARY COHEN, who moved to the TV side recently as the METS' voice for the new SPORTSNET NEW YORK cable channel. RAISSMAN reports that MCCARTHY has beaten out WAXY-A (790 THE TICKET)/MIAMI host, ESPN announcer, and former FLORIDA MARLINS voice JON "BOOG" SCIAMBI for the job.
