XM SATELLITE RADIO will be the sole sponsor of the JANUARY 12 jersey retirement ceremony for former hockey star MARK MESSIER at MADISON SQUARE GARDEN. The event is part of the satellite service's marketing agreement with the NEW YORK RANGERS, who are retiring MESSIER's number 11 jersey.
MESSIER will return the favor by appearing in various XM promotions and on the service's HOME ICE hockey talk channel.
