SALEM Oldies KGMZ/HONOLULU is clearing the schedule of most of its local hosts in favor of satellite-delivered programming from DIAL GLOBAL, reports the HONOLULU STAR-BULLETIN's ERIKA ENGLE. Midday host SHAREN NAKASHIMA, afternooner BART DASILVA, evening host KEN "HUTCH" HUTCHINSON, and weekenders JIM GARDNER and "THE REAL" RON O'NEIL are exiting, while morning co-host PAUL STEWART moves to sister Country KHCM for mornings. PD ED KANOI remains on the air a morning host, and SATURDAY 8a-noon host "UNCLE" TOM MOFFATT will also remain with the station.
Cluster GM JEFF COELHO told ENGLE that the move was an economic decision.
