ALL ACCESS is saddened to learn of the passing of industry vet WALTER LEE. LEE was the former head of promotion for CAPITOL RECORDS and MORGAN CREEK, where he was also GM. LEE, 63, lost his battle with colon cancer, and died at his L.A. home.
LEE joined CAPITOL as a regional radio promotion exec out of BOSTON, replacing the legendary AL COURY, with "Let It Be" the first record he ever worked. He eventually moved to DETROIT and in 1978, to THE TOWER in L.A., where he remained for nine years until 1987. For the past eight years, he partnered with FREDERIC TRAUBE in PRO SPORTS MUSIC, promoting records and artists to sporting arenas and stadiums.
He leaves behind his devoted wife RITA, son DAVID LEE and daughter DEBBIE. Family and friends are invited to a funeral service to be held TUESDAY, OCTOBER 7th at Eternal Valley Memorial Park, 23287 North Sierra Highway, NEWHALL, CA 91321.
