CITADEL Country WHWK (98-1 THE HAWK)/BINGHAMTON PD/afternoon personality DON BRAKE tells ALL ACCESS that they will celebrate COUNTRY MUSIC MONTH during OCTOBER as ‘HAWKTOBER.’

All month-long the station will celebrate with special imaging, contests and concerts. Among the contests will be the popular ‘Album Avalanche,” which the station did last FEBRUARY- BRAKE says that they feature two different albums each weekday between the 6th and 31st of OCTOBER,  with listeners keeping track of all the album titles and artists. They then send in their lists for a chance at a vacation package to NASHVILLE and 40 CD’s- hence the witty ‘Album Avalanche,’ handle.

"HAWKTOBER" culminates with a big CARRIE UNDERWOOD/LITTLE BIG TOWN show at the BROOME COUNTY ARENA with an ‘avalanche’ of tickets to giveaway, courtesy of tour sponsor VITAMIN WATER.
