This year's inductees into the GEORGIA RADIO HALL OF FAME, honored in a ceremony SATURDAY night in MARIETTA, GA, included the previously-announced ATLANTA BRAVES team of SKIP CARAY, ERNIE JOHNSON SR. and PETE VAN WIEREN, whose entry was announced earlier this year after CARAY's death. Also inducted were longtime WSB-A/ATLANTA morning man SCOTT SLADE; WSB traffic reporter CAPTAIN HERB EMORY; WKNG-A/TALLAPOOSA, GA morning host RED JONES; former WQXI-A/ATLANTA PD and WYAY and WSB-A/ATLANTA, WUBE/CINCINNATI, WIBV-A/ST. LOUIS, and WWDJ-A and WPAT-A-F/NEW YORK personality GARY CORRY; longtime COLUMBUS, GA market veteran BILL BOWICK; WMAZ-A-TV/MACON personality DEL WARD; and voiceover specialist and former WQXI-A personality TONY TAYLOR.
The ceremony, hosted by CBS RADIO President DAN MASON, also honored longtime WSB-A reporter AUBREY MORRIS with the ELMO ELLIS Spirit Award and longtime WSB-A GSM JACK LENZ with the Founders and Directors Award.
