Condolences to family and friends of TV and movie composer NEAL HEFTI, who died SATURDAY at his home in TOLUCA LAKE, CA at 85. HEFTI composed and performed the themes for the movie and TV show "THE ODD COUPLE" and the TV series "BATMAN," among other familiar tunes.
Beginning as a trumpeter in the big band era, HEFTI went on to become a prominent arranger before moving into composing for HOLLYWOOD. He also served as A&R head at REPRISE RECORDS in the 1960s.
