No Bright Spot In Sept. 08 RAB Rev Report

Revs Down 8%

The RAB has released SEPTEMBER 2008's Revenue Pool Numbers, and the ongoing decline continues for radio.

Comparing SEPTEMBER 2008 vs. SEPTEMBER 2007, Local Revenue for all markets is down 10%. National Revenue fares no better, off 7% for a combined drop of 9%.

The previous bright spot, Off-Air Revenue, was down 1% for this month.

The Grand Total Revenue for all markets was down 8%.

Local and national revenues are based on approximately 100 markets as reported by the accounting firm of MILLER KAPLAN ARASE & CO. Off-Air data has been collected and verified since JANUARY of 2002, and reported since SEPTEMBER of 2004.
