Former WRKO Talker Hopkins Held On Rape Charge

Former ENTERCOM Talk WRKO-A/BOSTON midday host REESE HOPKINS is being held without bail after his arrest on an outstanding criminal warrant for a rape charge out of NEW YORK. 

HOPKINS, who was let go last week by WRKO as part of the ENTERCOM budget cuts, was arrested while dining with his girlfriend in MALDEN, MA on WEDNESDAY night and is being extradited to NEW YORK. His lawyer, PAUL MISHKIN, told the BOSTON GLOBE that HOPKINS is cooperating with police and "hasn't made any efforts to avoid prosecution." 

HOPKINS said while being transported in handcuffs that he "couldn't have been there" when the alleged incident, which he said arose from allegations made by a former friend of his daughter, occurred in OCTOBER 2004, when he was living in MANCHESTER, CT.
