Cable TV's C-SPAN has asked the SUPREME COURT for expedited access to the tapes of next TUESDAY's SUPREME COURT oral arguments in the FCC v. FOX BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS "fleeting expletives" indecency case, reports BROADCASTING AND CABLE magazine.
The tapes are normally not released until after the court's session ends in JULY. If the court allows C-SPAN to get the tapes sooner, the network will air the tapes uncensored as soon as it gets them, and will also air the tapes unedited on its noncommercial WCSP (C-SPAN RADIO)/WASHINGTON, banking on the news coverage exception to the indecency rules.
