IMPACT RADIO GROUP completed its move of KMXM/MCCALL, ID into the BOISE market TODAY. The station has changed call letters to KWYD and launched a Rhythmic Top 40 format using the name "WILD 101."
Market General Manager DARRELL CALTON commented, "Since I arrived at IMPACT RADIO, we’ve been able to launch two new exciting formats in just 70 days. The Rhythmic format gives us the most diverse portfolio of stations in the marketplace with 'WILD 101' joining Regional Mexican KPDA (LA PODEROSA), Adult Hits KSRV (BOB FM) and Classic Hits KQLZ (99.1 TRUE OLDIES CHANNEL). No matter what listener you are trying to reach, IMPACT RADIO delivers."
Dir./Programming MIKEY FUENTES noted, "Rhythmic stations in the region like KUUU/SALT LAKE CITY, KUBE/SEATTLE, KXJM/PORTLAND, KQKS/DENVER and KIBT/COLORADO SPRINGS have all seen tremendous success with the Rhythmic format over the last several years. BOISE was the only major PACIFIC NORTHWEST market where this format had been missing. We believe 'WILD 101' will be a major player in the marketplace for years to come."
Joining KWYD as APD/MD is BEN "DJ COMPLEX" ROMERO. FUENTES, ROMERO and consultant ANTHONY ACAMPORA were the team that led Rhythmic KWIE/RIVERSIDE to record shares.
