Canadian Radio Veteran Passes Away

Radio veteran and evangelist BERNICE GERARD passed away SATURDAY morning, NOVEMBER 1st, according to THE VANCOUVER SUN. She was 84.

GERARD hosted the Christian Talk shows "Encounter" and "Sunday Line" on CJOR/VANCOUVER from 1971 to 1988. She served as VANCOUVER City Councillor in the late 1970s. GERARD also hosted "SUNDAY Line" for KVOS-TV/BELLINGHAM, WA and "SUNDAY Line" for VISION TV CANADA. She also participated in a daily show for KARI/BLAINE, WA from 1985-2000.

According to THE VANCOUVER SUN, Rev. GERARD was named by the publication as the most influential religious figure in BRITISH COLUMBIA in the 20th century in 2000.
