JONATHAN ROSS' return to BBC RADIO 2 from suspension is now set for JANUARY 24th. ROSS, who was suspended for the now-infamous prank call to actor ANDREW SACHS on RUSSELL BRAND's show OCTOBER 18th, will resume his SATURDAY morning show after 12 weeks of unpaid leave. ZOE BALL and DANNY BAKER will fill in for ROSS between NOVEMBER 22nd and DECEMBER 13th; RICHARD ALLINSON has been filling in since ROSS' suspension. ALEX LESTER is handling BRAND's former SATURDAY night show after the comedian's resignation.
The call continues to cause repercussions at the BBC, with Director General MARK THOMPSON and BBC TRUST Chairman Sir MICHAEL LYONS being called before the HOUSE OF COMMONS Culture, Media and Sport Committee next TUESDAY to take questions on the incident.
