NORTHEAST BROADCASTING AAA WXRV (THE RIVER)/BOSTON has appointed 21-year broadcast veteran DONALD ST. SAUVEUR as GM. ST. SAUVEUR, who has previously worked for ENTERCOM, CBS, AMERICAN RADIO SYSTEMS and INTEREP among others, as a NSM, GSM, Dir./Sales and GM, starts on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 17th.
"DONALD has been one of BOSTON’s brightest stars for many years," said NORTHEAST BROADCASTING CEO STEVEN SILBERBERG said. "He shares our independent and entrepreneurial spirit. His respect for the product and THE RIVER’s audience is rivaled only by his vision to reinvent and reinvigorate radio and provide new revenue and customer loyalty solutions for our listeners and advertisers. We're thrilled to add DONALD to our team."
"I am just so delighted to be leading the very clever and creative team at THE RIVER," ST. SAUVEUR said. "I've been listening to THE RIVER incessantly since it signed on-air in AUGUST 1995. Everyone recognizes that publicly traded radio groups are going through a great deal of upheaval right now; however, independent stations like 92.5 THE RIVER/WXRV are flourishing for a reason. How many stations in BOSTON can boast that they're locally owned, independent, solar-powered and committed to a format based on new artists, singers and songwriters? In fact, THE RIVER often presents artists live and in-person, spontaneously performing their music in THE RIVER MUSIC HALL. Try to ‘voicetrack’ that."
