FOX NEWS Chairman/CEO and FOX TELEVISION STATIONS Chairman ROGER AILES has inked a deal to extend his tenure with NEWS CORP. for another five years.
AILES, the former Republican political consultant, started his career as a producer and director for WESTINGHOUSE BROADCASTING's KYW-TV/CLEVELAND, moving with the station to PHILADELPHIA in 1965 and winning two Emmys for his work on the MIKE DOUGLAS show. He became a media and political consultant after working on the NIXON campaign in 1968, produced RUSH LIMBAUGH's syndicated TV show in 1991, and took over CNBC in 1993.
He joined NEWS CORP. to create FOX NEWS CHANNEL in 1996 and added duties at the company's owned and operated TV stations in 2005 and oversight of MY NETWORK TV in 2006.
