GREATER MEDIA Talk WTKK/BOSTON midday co-host JIM BRAUDE had his day in court over a dispute with a police officer regarding a traffic infraction during British Prime Minister GORDON BROWN's visit to BOSTON, and the result was a $20 fine for driving the wrong way down a street. But DORCHESTER District Court Judge JAMES COFFEY found BRAUDE “not responsible” for making an illegal U-turn.
“I assumed that if the F-word doesn’t fit, you must acquit. It appears I was only 50 percent right,” BRAUDE told the BOSTON HERALD's JESSICA HESLAM. BRAUDE had alleged that police Sgt. STEVEN GODFREY cursed at him during the APRIL incident, and the host says he will file a complaint against GODFREY.
BRAUDE was cited by GODFREY for driving northbound in a southbound lane and making an illegal U-turn while trying to get around a traffic blockage that turned out to be caused by a heavily-guarded motorcade carrying BROWN from the JFK LIBRARY.
