The KALISPELL, MT City Council will ask controversial SKYLINE BROADCASTERS Talk KGEZ-A (Z-600, THE EDGE)/KALISPELL owner/host JOHN STOKES that it wants to move the station's two towers at the government's expense, whether he likes it or not.
The move of the two 325 foot towers is intended to clear airspace near the KALISPELL CITY AIRPORT so that the city can be eligible for federal finds, and the DAILY INTER LAKE reports that the city has obtained an option on land where the towers can be relocated. If STOKES refuses to accept the move, the city is planning to condemn the towers and force the move.
"I'll choose my site to relocate my towers, not them. I'm not going to locate next to a sewer lagoon," STOKES told the paper. "I'm quite happy where I'm at." He asserts that the city must condemn and pay for the entire station site, not just the towers.
