The FCC Media Bureau, on its own motion,. has extended the time for SIRIUS XM RADIO to implement the leasing of 4% of their combined channels to third parties.
The deadline, originally set for NOVEMBER 28, has been stretched to FEBRUARY 27th because the FCC wants to address concerns about the mechanics of the channel lease administration and allocation. SIRIUS XM committed to the lease plan to allow for minority and other entities to gain access to satellite radio capacity.
