VERIZON WIRELESS has signed on as the first national advertiser on HD RADIO multicasts, inking a deal to sponsor "VERIZON NEW MUSIC" channels on the HD2 subchannels of 21 CLEAR CHANNEL stations.

Among the stations carrying the VERIZON-sponsored programming on HD2 are WHTZ (Z100)/NEW YORK, KIIS-F/LOS ANGELES, WKSC (103.5 KISS-FM)/CHICAGO, WIOQ (Q102)/PHILADELPHIA, KYLD (WILD 94.9)/SAN FRANCISCO, KHKS (106.1 KISS-FM)/DALLAS, KHMX (MIX 96.5)/HOUSTON, WKLS (Project 9-6-1)/ATLANTA, and others.
