DENVER EDUCATIONAL Jazz KUVO (JAZZ 89)/DENVER is letting go two popular hosts to cut expenses and buttress against a rough-looking 2009, reports THE DENVER POST. ED DANIELSON and RODNEY FRANKS will lose their shows next month, and two part-time positions in the donor development office will be eliminated, the public radio station's Pres./CEO GENE CRAVEN, told listeners in an e-mail TUESDAY.
DANIELSON is the host of "The Morning Beat" from 6-9a and FRANKS hosts "Drive Time Jazz" each afternoon from 4-6.
The worsening economy and new expenses are to blame, CRAVEN said in the e-mail.
DANIELSON and FRANKS will continue to be substitute hosts at the station, as well as work on a proposed online program next year.
