The OAKLAND ATHLETICS have another new radio home, inking a one-year deal with PAPPAS Talk KTRB-A/SAN FRANCISCO to serve as flagship for the 2009 season. The A's aired last year on CBS RADIO Talk KYCY-A (now Oldies KFRC-A) and Classic Hits KFRC (now a simulcast of News KCBS-A). KTRB will air all 162 regular season games plus 17 pre-season games. KEN KORACH, VINCE COTRONEO and RAY FOSSE return to call the games, with ROBERT BUAN back as studio host.
"We are delighted to join KTRB in this broadcast partnership," said A's VP/Broadcasting and Communications KEN PRIES. "Their powerful 50,000-watt signal will provide our fans with a clear and consistent broadcast throughout the BAY AREA."
"As the BAY AREA's newest radio station, we are very proud to be the new flagship radio station for the OAKLAND A's and the OAKLAND A's RADIO NETWORK," said KTRB VP/GM JIM PAPPAS. "Both of our organizations have a long tradition of service to the BAY AREA and to NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. This new relationship will mark a major step forward for both the A's and KTRB AM 860 in 2009."
