Former longtime MEDIA GENERAL NBC affiliate WFLA-TV (NEWS CHANNEL 8)/TAMPA health reporter IRENE MAHER is joining the UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH FLORIDA's noncommercial WUSF-F/TAMPA as host of "FLORIDA MATTERS," a public affairs show, starting FRIDAY (1/30). The show airs on radio FRIDAYS at 6p and SUNDAYS at 10a, and will add a TV version FRIDAYS at 8p on PBS affiliate WUSF-TV.
MAHER was laid off from WFLA-TV last JULY after 23 years with the station.
