Doug Stone Arrested For Assaulting Son

WJHG-TV 7/PANAMA CITY, FL is reporting that Country artist DOUG STONE, whose real name is DOUGLAS JACKSON BROOKS, was arrested overnight (04/09) at his beach condo. The NEWTON, GA native is accused of domestic battery against his 22-year-old son, DUSTIN BROOKS. 

At about 3:30a (ET) THURSDAY morning, PANAMA CITY BEACH Police responded to a domestic disturbance call at Grand Panama Condo Resort on Front Beach Road. When officers arrived, resort security reported they saw Stone on the floor with his son in a headlock. When officers arrived, they observed BROOKS’ face was bloody. 

Officers say the father attacked his son after the younger BROOKS began badgering his father about wrecking the car a short time earlier, and being intoxicated. Police say about an hour before they received the disturbance call at Grand Panama, STONE allegedly ran over a curb and blew out a tire in his vehicle. When officers arrived, STONE was standing outside of his car.
