MCA/NASHVILLE artist JOSH TURNER has announced that ASHLEY POSTON is the first recipient of the JOSH TURNER SCHOLARSHIP FUND. ASHLEY is a 2009 graduate of HANNAH-PAMPLICO HIGH SCHOOL in HANNAH, SC (which is TURNER's alma mater).
TURNER said: "Growing up in rural SOUTH CAROLINA, I attended a small school. In fact, there were only 75 people in my graduating class. And that translated into 'not a lot of opportunities' when it came to music. My goal for this scholarship fund is to create opportunities for students who want to pursue an education within music or the arts."
In other news, JOSH will release a new single, "Why Don't We Just Dance," from his forthcoming album, "Haywire," this week. The single will be available to Country radio on PLAY MPE on WEDNESDAY (8/12) at noon (CT), and the new album hits stores on NOVEMBER 10th.
On AUGUST 19th, the single will be available for streaming on www.joshturner.com, and on AUGUST 25th it will be available for purchasing at iTUNES and all other digital retail outlets.
