HOPE FM MINISTRIES LTD. has been granted approval by the CRTC to move low-power CINU/TRURO, NS from 98.5 FM to 106.3 FM. The move relieves interference issues with French Type A community station CKRH/HALIFAX.
HOPE's application was mutually exclusive with an application by TRURO LIVE PERFORMING ARTS ASSOCIATION for a very-low-power developmental station at 106.1 FM. TRURO LIVE has been approved for the new station but must find a new frequency for it.
And BEL-ROC (HALIBURTON) Adult Hits CKJN (MOOSE FM 92.9)/HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON has had its request to reduce Canadian content in the 6a-6p weekday slot from 60% to 35% rejected. The agency noted that the station had not contributed to Canadian talent funding in the amounts required by its license, and denied the present application because of that non-compliance.
