Springsteen To Be Honored At The Kennedy Center

The JOHN F. KENNEDY CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS announced that BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN is among five individuals being recognized for their lifetime contributions to American culture through the performing arts. The other individuals who will receive the KENNEDY CENTER Honors of 2009 are: writer, composer, actor, director, and producer MEL BROOKS; pianist and composer DAVE BRUBECK; opera singer GRACE BUMBRY; and actor, director, and producer ROBERT DE NIRO.
The KENNEDY CENTER HONORS GALA will take place DECEMBER 6th at the KENNEDY CENTER OPERA HOUSE stage and will be broadcast nationwide on CBS-TV on DECEMBER 29th. The KENNEDY CENTER HONORS MEDALLIONS will be presented DECEMBER 5th at a STATE DEPARTMENT dinner hosted by Secretary of State, HILLARY CLINTON.
The Center's Board of Trustees selects the Honors recipients for their lifetime contributions to American culture through dance, music, theater, opera, motion pictures, or television.
