ALL ACCESS has learned that, as expected, SHERIDAN BROADCASTING’s three stations, Urban WAMO-FM, Urban AC WAMO-A and Black Gospel WPGR-A, have ceased broadcasting as of 6p YESTERDAY (SEPTEMBER 8th). The stations have been sold to ST.JOSEPH MISSIONS for $8.9 million. They’re expected to begin with CATHOLIC programming at some point in the near future. The entire WAMO staff has left the building
SHERIDAN RADIO BROADCASTING Pres/GM RON DAVENPORT JR. had this parting statement. “We are honored to have been able to serve the PITTSBURGH market for over 30 years. We’re sorry that we’re not going to be able to continue that tradition, but we’re still bullish on radio and looking forward to doing radio sometime in the future.”
