BLEVE RECORDS has decided to move forward with the release and promotion of RONNIE MILSAP's single, "My First Ride," featuring CAPITOL/NASHVILLE artist TRACE ADKINS. BLEVE was issued a "cease and desist" order from CAPITOL on SEPTEMBER 15th, for the "unauthorized use and exploitation of TRACE's performance and name & dilution of the value of CAPITOL's valuable property" (NET NEWS 9/17).
BLEVE Pres./CEO MICKEY MILAM states that the song was green-lighted through TRACE's management and CAPITOL had full knowledge of the project. MILAM also reports that words of encouragement, protest, phone calls and e-mails "haven't stopped pouring in" from firefighters, police officers, their families and fans of RONNIE and TRACE. MILSAP added, "Make me a sign, I will lead the picket line!"
The single will be included on an upcoming multi-artist compilation CD, benefiting the FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE (FOP) and the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIREFIGHTERS (IAFF) disaster relief funds. The album is slated for release on NOVEMBER 1st.
